March Favorites

Hello Lovelies!

I thought I would do a March empties post, since I seemed to have used up quite a few products last month.  Some I loved and some were just interesting to try, and I thought I would share what I thought with all of you.  Alright, let’s jump on into it.

1. Senna Sketch-A-Brow Pencil

What they say about it:

“This fine and firm brow pencil gives ultra natural definition to create faux brow hairs, fill in sparse areas and boost brow arches with smudge proof and long lasting color. Complete with a never-sharpen retractable tip and blending comb.”

What I thought:

I was loving this ultra fine brow pencil for drawing in individual brow hairs.  The formulas glides on, but is firm and smudge-proof for long wear.  My brows held up my long 12 + hour days from work to home without very much fading.  It comes with a comb on one end as well as a never sharpen retractable tip on the other.  The photo to the right is me using the brow pencil in the color “blonde”.

The price point is not bad either, at $18.00 before my pro discount isn’t bad for how long I had it, about a month and a half.  I use the color Blonde and it seems to match my neutral blonde quite well, which is somewhat hard to do with all the “blonde” shades ranging from yellows to greys to taupes.  Other available shades come in Ash Brown, Light Taupe, Dark Taupe, and Mink.  To check out more from this lovely line (especially their amazing Brow Book) follow the link for their site: or also at

2. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

What they say about it:

“Now with 16 additional, bold shades of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick for all-night wear, this innovative formula gives lips long-lasting wear and high-pigment color. Its creamy, color-rich formula glides over lips like a gloss but dries to a true matte finish. It’s infused with natural comfort-enhancing ingredients, including vitamin E and sunflower seed so you can flaunt lasting matte color that leaves lips feeling comfortable.

What I thought:

I have a few of my fav colors in the photo to the left, and to the right is a picture of me wearing the one in “Lovesick” which seems to be constantly selling out.   With the recent boom of liquid lipsticks, you know many are being made in the same factories, but with different labels and colors.  I do have a special love for this shade, however.  It has just a hint of a pinky-mauve tone to it, and lasts all day.

Being a liquid lipstick it does dry the lips a tad, but if you apply a balm before hand I don’t notice a difference until many hours later, I’d say around the 5 or 6 hour mark.  After you first apply the product it is a bit sticky feeling, but that fads and it is actually quite light and comfortable to wear.  Price point is at $20.00, but if your looking to try out some fun spring colors I would say go for it!  I will be purchasing a few more colors to try out for sure (like Armageddon, Rich Lavender, and Bachelorette).

3. Living Libations Best Skin Ever – Seabuckthorn

What they said about it:

“Our best seller! Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever is the foundation creation for radiant skin. This body and face product is “all-in-one” for cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing. Of all the Best Skin Evers, this one and Rose Best Skin Ever are the best choices for the face and can also be used on the body. Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever is the ultimate choice for brilliantly cleansing, moisturizing and toning the skin.  All Pure Organic and/or Wild crafted Ingredients: super-critical Seabuckthorn oil, golden jojoba oil, virgin coconut oil, tamanu oil, lavender, vetiver, grapefruit, and palmarosa essential oils.”

What I thought:

When I first received this product I was so excited!  It took a bit longer as it is shipped from Canada.  The packaging is in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser.  It is a heavier glass, and I quite liked the simple design.

This oil can be used a variety of ways, from using it to wash you face to using a drop or two for moisturizing.  I have tried both.  Let me just say, if you enjoy nature-y somewhat sweet yet with a spicy almost woodsy undertone, you will love this!  When using after cleansing, I only need one pump for my entire face and neck.  It makes my skin feel moisturized, fresh, and balanced.  After a moment it fully absorbs, and leaves no oily or greasy residue.  I also love the fact that they list every ingredient in the product, describe and explain why it is in the item, and provide instructions for proper use.  The price is $30.00 for 50 ml and $50.00 110 ml.  I think this is totally justifiable as the 110 ml bottle lasted me for about three months.  I will definitely be repurchasing and might throw in something else from my ever growing wish list on their site.  Watch out, they have many goodies that you will want to get your hands on!

3. Paddywax Apothecary Tobacco & Patchouli Candle

What they say about it:

“Our signature Soy Wax, paired with Tobacco & Patchouli fragrance notes, hand-poured in a 8 oz. vintage-inspired amber apothecary bottle.”

What I thought:

My husband absolutely loves the scent of patchouli, so when I saw this candle at Urban Outfitters I had to give it a sniff.  I usually have a personal preference of either spicy/woodsy candle scents or fresh and clean.  Anything that has candy cupcake baked sugary sweet anything I can’t stand for too long.  I purchased it right away, as the moment I inhaled the rich scent I was filled with a relaxing and calm feeling.  A strong heady smoky scent with a bit of spice pulls you in and makes me think of a homey winter evening inside with a blanket.  I have been burning this candle constant, and am almost to the bottom, but I purchased it back in January.  This is a for sure repurchase, and possibly a step into the world of Paddywax candles.  Last I checked these were sold out, but check it out as well as the other scents!

These were just a few of my favorites from this past month.  Another I forgot to mention was re-watching the Game of Thrones season 5 to prepare myself for the premiere of season 6 this month.  Is anyone else totally stoked?  Let me know if you have tried out any of these products, and if you want a part two to this post.  Maybe I should do more of these?

Until next time my lovelies!
